Broad Tail
We had great time yesterday with first time fly fishers, Jamie and Mark from Fort Smith, Arkansas. It was a beautiful fall day and you could not ask for better weather for your first day of fly fishing. After a short casting lesson we headed down river on a very foggy morning. Things started a little slow which happens sometimes during the full moon phase as the fish tend to feed pretty hard during the night time.
Around mid morning the bite turned on and remained fairly steady the remainder of the day. Best flys of the day included #16 Hare’s Ear, #18 Zebra Midge, RG/PT Cruiser and Born’s Hairy Legged Sowbug. Both Jamie and Mark caught plenty of fat Rainbows and also managed to bring four beautiful, wild, Brown Trout to the net. All in all, it was just a really nice day with two delightful people.
