Happy Holidays

DECEMBER 01, 2012

Thanks to all of you for fly fishing with us during the past year.  We had a great time fishing with each of you and we do hope that you will join us in the near future for another trip.  Last winter and early spring featured very high water and some big Brown Trout on big streamers.  The late spring and early summer provided some great Rainbow fishing and near perfect weather and water conditions.  Late summer got really difficult with very low water and really high temperatures.  The fall was absolutely beautiful and the Hybrid fly fishing on Greers Ferry Lake was amazing!  If you have not seen a Hybrid “Blitz” you are really missing a unique opportunity.   Currently we have good water conditions and the Brown Trout spawn is really kicking into high gear.

Personally it was great year as I caught a true trophy Smallmouth Bass and made a trip to Canada with my son and we both caught our first Atlantic Salmon on fly.  My son, Trent, caught a 41 inch, 30 pound monster on a dry fly!  We will definitely be heading back to Canada early next summer.
Thank you again for fly fishing with us at Empty Creel Fly Fishing Guides and Outfitter and just give us a call to check on what is going on or to book a trip.  You can keep up with us at our website: www.emptycreelflyfishing.com where you can also see photos of your fly fishing trip with us as well a reports of other trips in the “Caddis Reports.”
Merry Christmas and best wishes for a Healthy and Happy New Year!
