THE OTHER FORT SMITH

I grew up and lived most of my life in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on the Arkansas River. "The Other Fort Smith" is in Montana. It boasts an official population of around ninety souls and has a post office, a church, a gas station/grocery, three fly shops; but the taco stand is closed! However it does have the Big Horn River which makes up for the other things that are a bit lacking. My good friend, Tom Hawthorne, The Ozark Angler, and I had a great float trip today with a very noce young guide, Jake Kelling. We caught some beautiful Big Horn River Brown Trout on little size #20 Tricos and Duns on four weight fly rods. Challenging fishing but great fun.
