Yesterday was another beautiful spring day on the river with continued high water. Streamer fishing remains very effective but the lush spring foliage can make it very difficult to get a streamer back into the soft pockets of water near the river bank where fish like to hold out of the current. However with a pro on the oars, like Tom Gazaway, the angler can be in position to make the proper cast and get the streamer into the most likely holding water. Many years ago on the Norfork River my dear friend, Duane Hada, gave me a great tip regarding fly casting. "The fish do not get up in the trees until after dark." Ponder that for awhile.
